Lars Brovil from the Danish Boxing Association has been elected as President of European Boxing at its inaugural Congress in Prague, Czech Republic.

The new Confederation currently has 28 member National Federations and is affiliated to World Boxing, which is the International Federation (IF) for the sport recognised by the IOC.

The inaugural Congress marked the beginning of a new era for boxing in Europe, aimed at strengthening and promoting the sport in the region.

The key business of the Congress included the ratification of the Statutes of the new organisation and the election of the President, Vice Presidents, Executive Board and Committee Chairs. The full list of appointments is:

Lars Brovil, President

Lars Brovil, former President of the Danish Boxing Association. More than 40 years’ experience within Olympic Boxing – from club grassroots to R/J & ITO at Olympic level in London 2021 and in Tokyo 2020 - Head of Sales and Marketing at Flensted Food Group in Denmark. With extensive experience in business sales development, corporate branding and commercial handling.

Len Huard, Vice President

Len Huard is the President of the Dutch Boxing Federation and a senior partner at Dutch Advocaten LLP in Amsterdam. With extensive experience in civil law, corporate, commercial, and real estate law, Len has worked internationally and completed several post-master programs. Len is known for strategic leadership, resilience, and a strong network in the legal and sports governance sectors.

Almar Ogmundsson, Vice President

Almar Ögmundsson is the General Secretary and former President of the Icelandic Boxing Federation, as well as a fund manager at Kvika Asset Management. With a background in both finance and sport, he brings experience in governance, strategic planning, and athlete development. Almar holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance from the University of Edinburgh.

Markéta Vochoska Haindlová, Vice President

JUDr. Marketa Vochoska Haindlova, LL.M. is Czech attorney-at-law, founder of her own law firm focused on providing legal services in the area of sports law.

In parallel to her legal practice, Marketa boasts an extensive executive experience. In 2010, she was elected as the Chairwoman of the Board of Appeal and Review of the Football Association of the Czech Republic and she held this position until 2013. In 2011, she co-founded the Czech Association of Football Players, of which she is the Chairwoman since 2013. Martkéta is currently also member of the Board of National Court of Arbitration for Sport and a member of the FIFPRO Division Europe Executive Board. In 2023 she has been appointed to UEFA Social & Environmental Sustainability Committee.
Markéta also established  her own charitable entity, Shoes4Life, which helps children and youth from under-privileged communities both in Europe and Africa.
