Prague, 4 August 2026 – European Boxing has appointed Beatrice Bastian as its new Competition Manager. She will officially take up her position on 1 September 2026, with her initial focus on the preparation and delivery of the upcoming European Elite Boxing Championships.
Beatrice Bastian brings more than 15 years of experience in international boxing administration, competition management and technical officiating.
Her connection with boxing began in early childhood. Although she was a competitive artistic gymnast, she grew up in a boxing family. Her father was a boxing sports scientist at the German University of Physical Culture (DHfK) Leipzig and later at the Institute for Applied Training Science (IAT) Leipzig before becoming Head Coach of the German Boxing Association (DBV).
After studying Law and Languages, she entered international boxing administration. Between 2011 and 2015, Beatrice Bastian served as Team Manager of the German franchise in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) before joining the Local Organising Committee of the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg.
She later became Team Manager for Germany's U17, U19 and U22 national teams, leading German delegations at numerous European and World Championships. At the same time, she established herself as an experienced competition organizer, serving as Competition Manager of the Brandenburg Cup and the 2026 European Boxing U17 Championships in Kienbaum. She also served on the IBA Women's Committee, contributing to the international development of women's boxing.
In 2018, Beatrice Bastian qualified as an International Technical Official (ITO). Her outstanding performances led to appointments at several Olympic Boxing Qualification Tournaments during the Paris 2024 Olympic cycle, culminating in her selection as an International Technical Official for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
Following the establishment of World Boxing, she continued to officiate at the highest international level, serving as an ITO at several World Boxing Cup events and at the 2025 World Boxing Championships in Liverpool. In 2026, she became a World Boxing Certified Technical Delegate, one of the sport's highest technical qualifications.
As Competition Manager, Beatrice Bastian will oversee the planning, coordination and operational delivery of all European Boxing competitions. Reporting to Secretary General Martin Volke, she will work closely with member federations, Local Organising Committees, technical officials and World Boxing to ensure the highest standards across all European Championships and international tournaments.
