Building Champions: Budva Hosts the Future of European Olympic Boxing at the U15 Championship

The first European Championships for the 13 and 14 years old boys and girls boxers under the European Boxing successfully started in Budva, Montenegro. This major event exceeded all expectations with the great number of athletes and participating countries. All together 369 boxers from 32 countries take part in this very important event.

Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine sent their best boxers in Budva.

131 girls and 238 boys will try to be crowned with European titles.                                   

The Technical Delegate of this competition is Mr. Michael Jensen from Denmark, who led the technical meeting and official draw on 17 October. Program is being held at the Mediterranean Sports Centre every day until Saturday, 25 October, when the grand finale will take place.

The city of Budva at the Adriatic Sea in Montenegro has been a popular boxing location during the last six years.

This attractive Mediterranean city was host to many major boxing events such as four European Championships, World Championships, European Boxing Cup and Youth World Cup events.

The Montenegro Boxing Association is known for their organizational abilities, confirmed many times by all participants that visited Budva. 

They proved it once again with a spectacular opening ceremony that was held in Budva Old Town, and which included a fantastic team parade, music spectacle and great fireworks. The ceremony was attended by the World Boxing President Mr. Boris van der Vorst, European Boxing President Mr. Lars Brovil, European Olympic Committee Sports Director Mr. Peter Brull and the President of Municipality of Budva Mr. Nikola Jovanovic.
