The Technical Meeting and the Official Draw of the Golden Belt Tournament took place in Braila, Romania today evening.
The new edition of the traditional Golden Belt Tournament will feature in the Sala Sporturilor in Braila, Romania until the 17th.
The 52nd edition of the Golden Belt Tournament is the next elite female and male competition on the road for the preparations to the European Elite Boxing Championships, Asian Games and the Panamerican Boxing Championships.
Mr. Josip Grbavac of Croatia is the Technical Delegate of the Golden Belt Tournament in Romania and he underlined the technical rules, the eligibility, the daily weigh-in, the key competition rules, the disciplinary code and the competition schedule of the event.
Mr. Mikael Broman represented the Boxerbase company in the Technical Meeting and the Official Draw which is an innovative boxing system.
The Golden Belt Tournament will be fully transparent with live scoring at the Boxerbase website at www.boxerbase.comand all of the fans can follow the event in all competition days.
The President of the Romanian Boxing Federation, Mr. Vasile Citea welcomed all of the participants and delegations in the meeting and he mentioned also the long history of the Golden Belt Tournament.
The Golden Belt Tournament began still back in 1972 and several of the Olympic Champions including Cuba’s legend, Teofilo Stevenson won the competition in the past.
Algeria, Haiti, India, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Romania, Ukraine and Uzbekistan are the representing nations in the Golden Belt Tournament.
The Romanian Boxing Federation has celebrated its 100th anniversary earlier this year and their Golden Belt Tournament will be a highlight this summer. Their management is planning to arrange also the Moldavian Belt Tournament in Iasi later this year.
The women and the men finals have been divided into two parts and these will take place in the event on July 16 and 17. The exact time of the women’s and the men’s final to be confirmed during the event as both competition days will be covered by the Romanian national TV.
